Course overview
This live CPD event is aimed at those chartered accountants finding themselves in the position of providing assurance and other related services focusing on the annual financial statements of an entity. This is not an easy space to participate in.

Developments in the auditing and assurance profession are ongoing, and thus professionals are in annual need of a comprehensive update about the latest such developments that could impact them in their professional capacity.

The South African auditing profession, too, is facing numerous challenges, worsened by very public audit failures, shocking ethical transgressions, and the dismissal of the entire IRBA board of directors by the former Minister of Finance, Mr Tito Mboweni, during 2021. There are approximately 4 000 registered auditors left in South Africa that are under constant and intense scrutiny of the public eye. It has become vital to support our registered auditors with high quality, relevant, and highly beneficial information sessions that enable them to carry on their activities as the protectors of the public’s interest.

On the other hand, registered auditors must also take it upon themselves to restore the very trust that the general public held in the profession by ensuring top quality engagements under all circumstances, and at all times.

If you are a registered auditor, please consider joining us for this event and develop the following professional competencies in doing so:
Main competency group: Technical competencies
• Sub-competency group: Assurance and related services
o Specific competencies: Assurance engagements, quality assurance and audits of historical annual financial statements (AFS)
