B-BBEE in South Africa – The Annual Update

Broad-based black economic empowerment (B-BBEE) is still very much an important factor playing a significant role in the South African economy at present. Whether the South African government’s empowerment policy has actually achieved its original goals, is a different matter, but the reality is that the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practise were devised to achieve integrative economic inclusion of previously marginalised groups of South Africans. These codes and regulations are also regularly revised, updated, and improved to address aspects that are troublesome when applied practically. From the point of view of B-BBEE verification professionals, business professionals, and entrepreneurs in South Africa, it is important to be regularly updated on trends, developments, and the so-called “latest hot topics of discussion” in the B-BBEE sphere.
