Course overview
To many professionals, the abbreviation “ESG” relates vaguely to making sure that the plastic in the ocean is cleaned up in some way, by someone, and somewhat soon. The global commercial importance of solid ESG reporting for entities of all types and sizes, however, increases every year on a massive scale. CPD Campus covers the area of environment, sustainability, and governance (ESG) reporting in a three-webinar series in 2023. The series is presented by Alexa-Rae Sebba, an environmental and mining attorney who heads up ESG Services at Moore Johannesburg and is the project manager of sectors and services at Moore Global. In this first instalment, Alexa-Rae provides an eye-opening overview of the increased importance of ESG at global level and why it is essential that accountants, finance, and business professionals update themselves annually on the topic. Clients and employers expect these professionals to be fully informed about the latest developments in ESG, thereby being able to effectively advise them on what ESG entails within their contexts, its measurement, and the appropriate consequential ESG reporting.
