Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI): How can I leverage our rainbow nation to become a personal citizen SA can be proud of?

In recent years, it so often feels that the very people of our rainbow nation may have forgotten what the term “rainbow” really means. In living out my personal citizenship of this amazing country, how can I, as an accounting, finance, assurance, and/or tax professional, be the best personal citizen I can be? Can we just stand by and look at our country going to the wolves? What is the country in need of most, and what is the proverbial “low hanging fruit” that, if pursued, can restore the ideals of our once-idolised rainbow nation?

Our country is rich in cultural diversity and if we can harness this diversity as its citizens, rather than let it destroy us, we can only prosper in perpetuity!
