I think I communicate effectively. But do others think so too?

Effective communication skills are acquired, we are not (necessarily) born with it! It is astonishing the impact that truly effective communication has on interpersonal and professional relationships, project management, goal setting and/or achievement, strategy formation and so many more aspects of day-to-day business!

We live in a beautifully diverse country where the commonly accepted business language is not the home language of most of our citizens. Is it possible that not enough deliberate attention is paid to understanding the challenges of communicating in a second language, especially in a highly complex business environment such as those where accounting, finance, tax, and assurance professionals do business?
