Course overview
Professionals functioning within the accounting, finance, tax, and business spheres, although not part of the police service, are regarded custodians of the public interest, the credibility of the profession, and just so much more! Every so now and again professionals come across instances of professional misconduct by individuals, which they don’t have a choice but to report to the relevant authorities, be it in terms of laws and regulations or in the mere interest of the profession. However, looking at recent history of whistleblowing in South Africa, reporting professional misconduct is a daunting task, potentially overwhelming the contemplator to such an extent that the reporting usually falls by the wayside. This is not in the interest of the credibility of a profession that is already facing many allegations of ethical and/or professional misconduct going unreported and even worse, unpunished! In this webinar, join CPD Campus as we make sense of the existing reporting channels to be followed in case of a need arising to report professional misconduct.

We will explore non-compliance with laws and regulations (NOCLAR), reportable irregularities (RIs), ethical and other professional misconduct, and so on. At least knowing the correct route to follow when reporting professional misconduct places our minds at ease and is a good starting point when we know we have no choice but to help clean up the profession of those individuals that bring its good name into disrepute.
