Course overview
Exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been underlined so many times the importance of creating opportunities for small and medium-sized (SME) businesses to flourish! Not only is this important to sustain national economic growth and expand the tax base in South Africa, but to make it possible for individuals with exceptional talents, ideas, and business skills to be given the opportunities to proactively sustain themselves and in doing so, also grow their businesses to create employment for others in the country.

South Africa has recently reached the 35% unemployment mark (47% if including those who are no longer actively pursuing employment, as they have given up looking) – this is an endemic that places our economic sustainability at the same level of risk as the Covid-19 pandemic.

The reality is – there is no vaccination against unemployment! In this live CPD event, we take a look at what the opportunities of entrepreneurship currently are, in South Africa. Is it idealistic to think of empowering township entrepreneurs (“townshipreneurs”)?

How easy, or difficult, is it to start a business in South Africa, at present, and which concessions have already been made in this context? In joining us, you will be developing the following professional competencies:
