Course overview
A key part of maintaining healthy professional values and attitudes is the ability to sustain an acute awareness of one’s status as a professional citizen. The image of the accountancy and auditing professions, both in South Africa and abroad, have been almost irreparably damaged over the past few years by the actions of individuals placing their own interests above those of the very people they have undertaken to protect – the public. Can this situation ever be turned around? Can the public’s faith and trust in and their perceptions of these professions be restored?

In this live CPD discussion, we debate these questions, and we investigate what every professional person can do to ensure a squeaky clean reputation as a professional citizen of this country, and the world. In joining us, you will be developing the following professional competencies:
Main competency group: Professional values and attitudes
• Sub-competency group: Citizenship
o Specific competency: Professional citizenship
