Course overview
CPD Campus presents the first in our three-part series on your 2023 ethics scorecard – reflecting on personal ethics. The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) defines “personal ethics” as the ethical principles and values applied by an individual to decision-making, conduct, and interaction between oneself and others.

In this learning intervention, we provide you with the opportunity to reflect about your own personal ethics, views, morals and beliefs, principles, and standards, and how, regardless of how these all may differ from one person to the next, the importance of maintaining the utmost level of impeccable personal ethics in society impacts not only your personal life, but lays the foundation for the ethical standards that you will apply in business and as a professional person.

Also note: SAICA members are required to undertake mandatory annual reflection about ethics, in the categories of personal, business, and professional ethics, as per SAICA’s Circular 02/2021. Members of the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) are required to undertake at least three hours’ professional development (CPD) in ethics.
